Great Depression Review


Intro; the great depression effected most of peoples lives in a dramatic way and has impact on where we are now as a society.


A overspeculation; people buying to many stocks that they cant afford.

B Govt Policy; when the goverment lowens too much money

C Unstable Econ; the goverment was not stable at the time because 

1 uneven prosperity; richer get richer and poor get poorer

2 overproduction; the manifactures make to many products

3 worker issues / farm issues; the farms dry and windy and workers rebelling

III Effects

A Poverty ;many people geting poorer because of the ecomeny and 25% of people dont have jobs

B Society ;people going tho food stands and soup kitchens

C World ;everybodys econemy going down everywhere and no more tradeing

IV Solutions

A Hoover; didnt try hard enough

1 Volunteerism people; would volunteer to help people out

2 Public Works; the goverment funded progects to thep people get jobs

3 Hawley Smoot; created a tariff

4 RFC; reconstruction finance corporation

B Roosevelt; willing to try anything

1 new deal; a way to get the economy going agine

a alphabet soup; a bunch of new orgnations
            example, CCC

b Criticsim?
    The left and the right were fighting saying that we went doing enough and others saying that we were spending too much

we didn't have enough money a lot of people said

B Political Criticism (ex. Came from both the _left___________ and _______right_______)

A Conservatives thought rosevelt was trying too hard.


B Liberals (ex: criticised the new deal also. They....)

because he was making socialist programs

A Changes in US more programs to help the people out in america

B Unions got stringer and reajusted

C Culture; people were more 

VII Conclusion these are some of the reasons on how the great depression affected many lives and has some impact on how we live today.
