Nimitz- Began Planning operations against the Japanese navy.
MacArthur- Decided to reatreet to the Bataan Peninsula, he was a general
Bataan- A Peninsula in the Philippines
Doolittle raid- america wanted to bomb tokyo but they could not get close neough for short range bombers so they used log rang bombers but they could not land on ships so they would half to land in china
Coral Sea- Japanese tryed to do a suprise attack on the us in the coral see but we had far greater technology so we knew they were coming.
Midway- The island between america and japan and was a good place to stop and put a base.
Afrika Korps- They were german forces that were placed in egypt
Erwin Rommel- He was the commander of the Afrika Korps
El Alamein- A battle in which British forces had to retreat
Patton- American forces leader who captured the city of casublangua
Casablanca- A city in africa
Kassarine Pass- A very poor performance in wich we lost many tanks and troops
Convoy System- Germans sunk so many ships that they started a convoy system where cargo ships were covered with hidden guns to protect them selves from german ships and subs
Stalingrad- A battle in the atlantic against germany Hittler thought that he would win but he didnt.
