Cite 2 more sources about some aspect of the Environmental movement that 'speaks to you.'  This could be managing fisheries for recreation, saving the whales, etc., clean air, clean water, solar power, nuclear power, clean coal.  I don't really care, but don't be contrarian for contrarians sake.  Look for something good about the Planet,  and dig

The movie was about many things they talked about but what stuck out in my head was the love canal and how they dumped toxic chemicals in the canal. The canal then over flowed into peoples homes creating children to become sick and have birth defects. In the video they dumped over 20,000 toxic chemicals in the canal. One over protective mother got concerned with her child's health and called the school and told them they cant be that close to the canal anymore. The school thought that this was absurd at first but then they found out that she was not the only parent with A sick kid. The school and the angry parents confronted the government asking them to give them money so they could move. They did this because the toxic waste was a health concern. The government said not at first but then said yes because of all the protests.

Whales play a very important role in the health of our environment and our understanding of marine mammals as well as playing an important role in helping growing economies that rely on whale watching and other spectator activities bring in capital through tourism. Whales can eat 15,000 squid a day and that is good because they keep the squid population in check. If we didnt have whales numbers of marine life would starve to death due to overpopulation in that species. Whales will be on the verge of extiction if we keep killing them.  Although whales fat is used for many things it is not worth killing some of the most elegant  creatures of the sea for.

In this movie I was interested in love canal because of the mutations and the people who live their.in the video they said that their was over 20,000 toxic chemicals in the canal. One parent had a sick son and she wanted to shut down the kindergarden because of the toxins in the school. She started a petition and she found that her son was not the only person sick in that school. many children were sick. she wanted to close the school.

I think saving the whales is important because they are a very unique animal and important in the ecosystem ''Thirty thousand beaks have been found in a sperm whale stomach indicating they had eaten 15,000 squid'' the sperm whale keeps the squid population in check''Sea Shepherd has gone on to end the careers of 9 illegal whaling vessels, saving thousands of whales. These campaigns and other Sea Shepherd efforts have kept the issue of whaling in the international spotlight for the past thirty years. The news keeps people in action and aware of this problem. Whale fat and grease is used as a lubricant in machinery and as a lamp oil to release light. Their is many other options that they could use for those simple tasks. The extinction of the whale is almost here and it is not worth it.

General Patton

George Patton was born in San Gabriel California on November 11, 1885. He was considered one of the most successful combat leaders of all time. He attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and graduated on June 11, 1909. Patton married Beatrice Ayer, who he dated while at West Point, on May 26, 1910. Patton was taking lessons at the French Cavalry School and studying French sword drills. In 1913 Patton received orders to report to the commandant of the Mounted Service School in Fort Riley. He began his military career leading cavalry troops against Mexican forces and became the first officer assigned to the new U.S. Army Tank Corps during World War I. He reached his highest point of his career during world war 2 when he lead the U.S. 7th Army in its invasion of Sicily and swept across northern France in 1944. Later that year he lead his troops in the counter attack against the german troops at the battle of Bulge. He then later drove his troops over the Rhine river covering ten thousand miles of German territory, liberating the country of the Natzi regime. Impressed by Patton's determination, Pershing promoted him to Captain and asked him to command his Headquarters Troop upon their return from Mexico. Patton became the first member of the newly established United States Tank Corps. Patton and his men achieved victory at Cambrai, France, during the world's first major tank battle in 1917. General Patton was a very good war leader and had great tactics that he used to win wars. Even though he was a great war leader he could not stop everything and was assassinated. http://www.biography.com/people/george-patton-9434904#awesm=~oDNipZb6poxUVB. http://www.history.com/topics/world-war-ii/george-smith-patton.
