Jack Dempsey

Jack Dempsey was one of the greatest boxers of his time and is considered one of the top 100 power punchers of all time. He was a american boxers and a icon of America. He held the world heavyweight championship from 1919 to 1926. The way he fought and how much power he had made him the most popular boxer of his time. When he fought he set many financial and attendance records because every body wanted to se this amazing heavy weight boxer. He was the first to set the million dollar gate. He is a member of the international boxing hall of fame. 

Born in Manassa, Colorado, with the name of William Harrison Dempsey, he grew up in ColoradoWest Virginia, and Utah, in a poor family. Jack was a mormon and he was proud of being mormon. Among his opponents were Firemen Jim Flynn, the only boxer ever to beat Dempsey by a knockout when Dempsey lost to him in the first round. He was born in 1895 and died in 1983, He lived to be 88 years of age. Jack and his brothers worked as miners for a while, before he became none as the great boxer he was. Jack was a very powerful puncher and had many knockouts in his fights. He will always be known for how good of a fighter he really was. Go to 3 min in the video.
